The First Born
My name is Doreen and I am the first born of Philomena and Hilary's brood of 12 children. Being the eldest in my family carries a heavy responsibility of ensuring my siblings are clean, well-fed (sometimes) and that they carry out their assigned chores accordingly (if not I end updoing all the chores). This made me the natural commander of our home.Ultimately, with such a big family, we are very loud and expressive in ourways. One has to be loud in order to be heard and this has stuck with mostof us until today. Even if it is not necessary to speak so loud, it is nowautomatic. Those who do not know us thinks that we are forever fightingwith each other. In the process of being heard, we forgot to speak like alady among ourselves. Of course, with other people, we behave better thatthe Princesses of Europe.
Anyway, I am now 47 years old and I am married to a very caring andhandsome guy, Andrew. We have been married for 23 years now and is stillgoing on strong. We have been blessed with 3 very lovely children, Audrey21, Alex 18 and Ashley 12.
Currently, I am still trying to juggle my life as a wife, mother and manager in a leading hotel. I am lucky in a sense that I have a very hardworking maid, Lina to clean my home and cook for my family. Lina has beenwith me for almost 8 years and I have come to regard her as part of myfamily.
I have learned to accept life's ups and downs in order to experiences life to the fullest. I am also encouraging all my siblings and their respective families not only to have a life but a spiritual life, for without God in a family, it is not a complete family at all.
